Getting started
What is Crypto 4 Naira?+
Crypto 4 Naira is a Nigerian crypto exchange where you can buy, sell, swap and store BTC, ETH, USDT and other supported coins using Naira (NGN). All settlements happen in real time, directly from your bank.
How do I create an account?+
Tap Sign up, enter your email and a strong password, verify the email link, then complete KYC (BVN + government-issued ID) to unlock buying, selling and withdrawals.
Is Crypto 4 Naira available outside Nigeria?+
Right now we serve Nigerian residents with Nigerian bank accounts. You can still browse public rates from anywhere, but trading requires a Nigerian KYC.
Buy, sell & swap
How do I buy crypto?+
Top up your Naira balance, tap Buy, choose a coin, enter the Naira amount, confirm the locked rate, and the crypto is credited to your wallet instantly.
How do I sell crypto for Naira?+
Tap Sell, choose the coin and amount, pick a verified bank account, and confirm. Naira typically arrives in your bank in under 5 minutes.
What is a swap?+
A swap converts one crypto directly into another (e.g. BTC → USDT) without touching Naira. Rates are live and execution is instant.
What are the fees?+
Buy/sell spreads are shown live on the quote before you confirm — no hidden fees. Swaps include a small network + service fee shown upfront. Naira deposits via bank transfer are free; bank withdrawals carry the standard ₦25–₦50 NIBSS fee.
What are the trading limits?+
Tier 1: up to ₦200,000/day. Tier 2: up to ₦2,000,000/day. Tier 3: up to ₦10,000,000/day. Upgrade your KYC tier to increase limits.
Deposits, top-ups & withdrawals
How do I top up my Naira balance?+
Tap Deposit to see your dedicated virtual account number. Transfer any amount from your bank app to that account — funds reflect automatically, usually within seconds.
Can I deposit crypto?+
Yes. Tap Wallet → Deposit, choose the coin and network, and send to the address shown. Make sure the network matches (e.g. USDT-TRC20 vs USDT-ERC20) — sending on the wrong network can result in loss of funds.
How long does a Naira withdrawal take?+
Withdrawals to Nigerian banks use NIBSS Instant Payment — most arrive within 1–10 minutes, 24/7.
Voucher marketplace
The marketplace is always live money
There is no sandbox or test mode in the marketplace. Every listing, purchase and payout moves real naira and real vouchers. While a voucher is listed it is escrowed and cannot be spent by anyone, and a completed purchase is final — the code transfers to the buyer immediately.
What is the voucher marketplace?+
It's a user-to-user market for Crypto 4 Naira vouchers. Members list vouchers they aren't using at an asking price below face value, and other members buy them straight from their NGN wallet — so a ₦20,000 voucher might cost you ₦18,500.
How do I buy a voucher?+
Open Marketplace → Buy. Each listing shows the face value, the asking price and the discount. Tap Buy and the amount is debited from your NGN wallet. The code then appears under My activity → Vouchers I bought, and you redeem it on the Deposit tab exactly like any recharge card.
Real money: the purchase debits your live NGN wallet instantly and cannot be reversed.
How do I sell a voucher I own?+
Open Marketplace → Sell, paste the voucher code and set your asking price. The code is escrowed while it's listed, so nobody — including you — can spend it until the listing is closed.
While escrowed the code will fail at checkout and in the merchant API — that's expected, not a bug. Delist it first if you need to spend it.
Can I cancel a listing?+
Yes. Go to My activity → My listings and tap Delist on any open listing. The code comes straight back to you, still valid and spendable.
When do I get paid for a sale?+
The moment the voucher sells. The sale proceeds land in your NGN wallet instantly and ownership of the code transfers to the buyer. Every listing and purchase is tracked under My activity.
Can I buy my own listing?+
No — your own listings show as 'Yours' and can't be purchased. Delist them instead if you want the code back.
Merchant payments
Sandbox vs live — read this before you integrate
Sandbox keys (c4n_test_…) are fully simulated: they only match the documented sandbox test codes, never touch real vouchers, balances or transactions, and every response carries "livemode": false. Live keys (c4n_live_…) settle real naira into your merchant balance and burn the customer's real voucher. Always check the livemode flag in your integration before you mark an order as paid.
Can my business accept Crypto 4 Naira vouchers?+
Yes. Open the Merchant tab, register your business with a name and category, and you get a merchant account with a dashboard, balance and API keys — no bank integration needed.
How do customers pay me?+
Two ways. Share your hosted checkout link (crypto4naira.com/pay/your-merchant-id) where the customer pastes a voucher code and pays in seconds, or call our REST API from your own site or app to validate and redeem vouchers inside your existing checkout.
The hosted checkout page is live-only — it has no API key, so every payment made there is real money. Test the API path with a sandbox key instead.
What is the difference between live and sandbox API keys?+
Live keys (c4n_live_…) move real money. Sandbox keys (c4n_test_…) are fully simulated — they never touch real vouchers, balances or transactions, and every response is flagged "livemode": false. Build and test against the sandbox test codes first, then swap in your live key.
A sandbox key cannot validate or redeem a real customer voucher — it will return not_found. That is the isolation working, not a failed integration.
What if the voucher is worth more than the bill?+
Partial redemptions are supported. You charge only what the order costs and the customer is automatically issued a change voucher for the remaining balance, which they can spend anywhere C4N vouchers are accepted.
In sandbox the change voucher is simulated — the code returned is not spendable and no voucher is created. Only live redemptions issue a real change voucher.
What does it cost to accept vouchers?+
A flat 1% platform fee per redemption. The net amount settles to your merchant balance immediately and every payment appears in your merchant dashboard with its fee breakdown.
Sandbox responses show the same 1% fee maths so you can test your accounting, but no balance actually moves and nothing appears in your merchant transactions.
Where is the API documentation?+
The full reference — authentication, the validate and redeem endpoints, transaction listing, webhooks and sandbox test codes — lives on the Merchant API docs page, linked from your merchant dashboard.
Account & KYC
How do I upgrade my KYC tier?+
Open Settings → KYC. Tier 1 needs email + BVN. Tier 2 adds NIN + a government ID. Tier 3 adds a live selfie liveness check. Approvals usually complete in under 10 minutes during business hours.
I forgot my password. What now?+
Tap 'Forgot password' on the login screen and check your email for a secure reset link (valid for 30 minutes).
How do I change my bank account?+
Open Settings → Bank Accounts → Add new. New accounts require a name-match check with your KYC profile before they're usable for withdrawals.
Security
How are my funds protected?+
95% of customer crypto is held in offline multi-sig cold storage with our custody partner. The remaining 5% in hot wallets is insured. Naira balances sit in segregated client accounts with a Tier-1 Nigerian bank.
Should I enable 2FA?+
Yes — always. Settings → Security → enable Authenticator-app 2FA. SMS 2FA is supported but app-based is more secure against SIM-swap attacks.
How do I spot phishing?+
Every official email shows your personal anti-phishing code (set in Settings → Security). If an email asking you to sign in or send funds does not show your code, it is fake. We will never DM you on social media asking for your password, 2FA code or seed phrase.
What if my device is lost or stolen?+
Sign in from another device, go to Settings → Security → Sign out all sessions, and reset your password. Contact Live Support immediately to freeze withdrawals while you secure the account.
